A True Champion

Phar Lap exhibition at Melbourne Museum
It had been a long time since I had been to the Melbourne Museum but really enjoyed a visit there on New Years Day.
Clearly the highlight was the Phar Lap exhibition which the museum states in its brochure is "the most popular exhibition they have."
The old boy has stood the test of time remarkably well and I was really impressed by just how good a type he is/was.
Big and strong with good bone, his depth of girth is amazing.
There are some great support articles to the exhibition including some original footage.

Another interesting piece of memorabilia is a copy of the catalogue he was bought from - Lot 41 - which had notes on his page saying words to the effect of "good size and nice walking colt."
If only they knew!
